How to buy a VPS on Tihost: step by step on the site and in Telegram

In short

To buy a VPS on Tihost, sign in at tihost.io with email, Google or Telegram, top up your balance from $0.10 with crypto or a card, then in «Buy Server» pick a location, configuration, OS and term and press «Pay and Create». The server is deployed in about 2 minutes; the login and password appear right away and the IP address on the server card. The Telegram bot @tihost_bot follows the same steps.

Key takeaways
  • A Tihost VPS is paid from a balance in US dollars: the balance is topped up from $0.10 with crypto or a card, then «Buy Server» walks through location, configuration, OS and rental term.
  • A Tihost server is deployed in about 2 minutes after payment; the login and password are shown on the «Server is being created» screen, and the IP address on the server card in «My Servers».
  • Paying for a Tihost VPS for 3, 6 or 12 months upfront gives 10, 15 or 20% off; the cheapest configuration costs $4.00 per month.
  • You can buy a Tihost VPS on tihost.io, in the Telegram bot @tihost_bot or through the public API - none of them requires identity verification (KYC).

Step 1. Sign in or sign up

Open the sign-in page and pick a method: enter your email and press «Continue» - a 6-digit code arrives by email - or press «Sign in with Google» or «Sign in with Telegram». There is no separate sign-up: the account is created on first sign-in, with no documents or KYC.

Step 2. Top up your balance

Open «Top Up Balance», enter the amount in dollars - from $0.10 - and pick a method: crypto via Heleket, CryptoBot or xRocket, an LZT Market balance, or a bank card and SBP. Press «Top Up», pay the invoice and wait for the credit; «Check Payment» checks the payment right away. Fees per method are in how to pay for a VPS with crypto.

Step 3. Pick a location

Go to «Buy Server». The first step, «Pick a server location», offers Germany (Falkenstein), Finland (Helsinki) and Poland (Warsaw); press «Continue». Choose the site closest to your users - latency and CPUs are compared in how to choose a VPS location.

Step 4. Pick a configuration

On «Pick a configuration» each card shows vCPUs, memory, NVMe disk size and the monthly price - from $4.00. A bot or a small site usually needs 1-2 vCPUs and 2-4 GB of memory; how to size a server for a task is in how much RAM a VPS needs.

Step 5. Pick an operating system

On «Pick an OS» first choose the family - Windows, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux or FreeBSD - then the version. Linux servers usually get a current LTS release of Ubuntu or Debian (which to choose); you can reinstall the OS later from the panel or the bot.

Step 6. Pick the rental term and a name

Under «Billing period» choose 1, 3, 6 or 12 months - 3 months give 10% off, 6 months 15%, 12 months 20%, and the discounted total shows right away. Then fill in «Server name (optional)»: Latin letters, digits, spaces and hyphens, 2 to 49 characters; leave it empty and a name is assigned automatically.

Step 7. Pay and create the server

Check «Your order» and the «Amount due», then press «Pay and Create» - the price is charged to your balance. If the balance is short, the order shows «Insufficient funds» with your current balance and a «Top Up» button. If the server fails to be created for any reason, the money returns to your balance.

Step 8. Get the IP address and password

After payment the «Server is being created» screen shows the login and password - copy them. Deployment takes about 2 minutes; once the server is up, its card in «My Servers» shows the «IP Address» and an «Access» block with the login (root on Linux, Administrator on Windows) and password.

How to buy a VPS in the Telegram bot

In the @tihost_bot bot the purchase follows the same order without a browser - handy on a phone:

  1. Open @tihost_bot, press «Start», pick a language and accept the terms with «I accept the terms!».
  2. Tap «Top up balance», pick a payment method, pay the invoice and tap «Check payment».
  3. Tap «Buy server» and choose the location, configuration, OS family and version, then the term under «Billing period».
  4. Check the «Confirm payment» screen and tap «Buy» - the money is charged to the balance and the bot replies «Payment accepted».
  5. When the machine is up, the bot sends «Server is ready» and the server card with the IP, login and password in the «Connection» block.

The new server appears in the bot's «My servers»: from there you can restart it, change the OS or password, renew the rental and open the VNC console on the website. To buy servers from your own scripts, use the Tihost API.

What to do right after buying

  • Linux server: connect over SSH with ssh root@IP-address - details in how to connect to a VPS over SSH.
  • Windows server: connect to the desktop over RDP as Administrator - see Windows VPS over RDP.
  • Do the VPS first setup: updates, your own user, SSH key login, the UFW firewall and fail2ban.
  • Turn on auto-renewal on the server card and keep enough on the balance for the next period so the rental does not lapse.
  • If the server does not answer over SSH or RDP, open «Console (VNC)» on the server card - it shows the machine's screen in the browser.

FAQ

How long does a Tihost VPS take to be created after payment?

About 2 minutes: the purchase screen says it usually takes 1-3 minutes. When the server is ready, its IP address appears on the server card in «My Servers», and the @tihost_bot bot sends a «Server is ready» message.

Can I buy a Tihost VPS without identity verification?

Yes. A Tihost account needs only an email, a Google account or Telegram; no documents or KYC are requested, and you can pay for the server with cryptocurrency.

Where do I find the IP address and password of a new VPS?

The login and password appear right after payment on the «Server is being created» screen. The IP address, login and password are always on the server card: «My Servers» on the website, «My servers» in the @tihost_bot bot.

What happens if my balance is too low to buy a server?

You cannot pay for the order yet: the order block shows «Insufficient funds» with your current balance and a «Top Up» button. Your selected configuration is kept, so you can return to payment right after topping up.

Do I get my money back if the server fails to be created?

Yes, if server creation fails, the price is returned to your Tihost balance automatically. If that does not happen, write to support at @tihost_support.

Can I buy a Tihost VPS through the API?

Yes. The Tihost public API buys a server with POST /servers from the account balance; the key is issued in the panel's «API» section or in the bot, and the documentation is at tihost.io/api.
